Okay, I have thought long and hard before posting this, but here goes.
Just like I have been these past three years, I am once again involved in one of the biggest fundraisers at Jazzie's old school. As you may know, Ohio Valley Voices (OVV) is an oral deaf school here in the Greater Cincinnati area which teaches deaf children to talk. OVV has been such an important part of our lives since Jazzie enrolled in the school 5 years ago. OVV has given Jazzie the gift of speech. Without them, Jazzie would not be where she is today and we owe a major part of her success to them. Our family will never be able to repay them for what they did for Jazzie and that is the reason why Matt and I will always be involved and do whatever we can for the school. Matt is currently on the board of directors and I am once again a member of this year's Silent Auction committee.
Today's tough economic conditions make it a challenge for the program at OVV to meet the children's needs and I am having a hard time finding businesses who are willing/able to donate this year. So I am going out on a limb on my blog to see if any of my readers have any connections who might be willing to donate something to the auction at OVV. Maybe you know a famous sport figure who might be willing to sign something, or maybe you know a manager of a national store/restaurant who might be willing to donate a gift certificate. OVV is a non-profit organization and any and all donations are tax-deductible. We are looking for gift certificates to restaurants, signed sports memorabilia, items from independent consultants like Silpada, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, etc. Gift baskets, handmade items, get-aways, etc.
If you or someone you know would be willing to donate anything to Ohio Valley Voices' Annual Silent Auction, please e-mail me. I would be more than happy to pay for shipping of any item.
Again, I am going out on a limb. I don't like to use my blog to ask for anything from anybody, but I have always told myself that I would do anything for OVV since they have done so much for Jazzie, so here it is. The event is November 14, so it is crunch time.
Have a great day, everyone!
