It seemed like just yesterday that the girls were heading out for their first day of school (actually, it was August 24, 2011):
And here they are this morning ready to head out for their LAST day.
Looking at these pictures made me realize how much darker it was in the morning at the beginning of the school year and how foggy it was this morning ;-)
Tahlia's awards ceremony was first. She got the good attendance award and a certificate for completing second grade. Here she is accepting them from the principal:
Jazzie accepting her awards:
Miss Jazz received FOUR awards:
We are very proud of her :-)
We were blessed to have two amazing teachers for Jazzie this year and we will miss both of them...
It has become a tradition that the parents on the street do something fun for the kids on the last day of school when they get off the bus (in the past we've sprayed them with silly string and had a rock concert for them from the back of a pick-up truck). This year we were armed with water balloons and squirt guns and attacked the kids when they got off the bus. Mayhem:
We were all forgiven since there was also a cooler full of ice cream cones, ice cream sandwiches, Italian ice and popsicles to choose from.
