We got to see two of Jazzie's China sisters today. While in China we got pretty close to our travel group, since we were traveling during SARS and we had to deal with Jazzie's unexpected hearing loss. Both were very stressful and our group really bonded together and was so supportive.
We grew particularly close to two families who happen to live relatively close to us. Ever since coming home from China in 2003 we have stayed in contact, seeing eachother about twice a year. Once in the summer and once around Christmas.
Here we are in China in May 2003:
We were quite the sight on the streets of Changsha!
Jazzie on the right:
We are SO glad that we have kept in touch over the years and that our girls can keep their connection alive. After all, they spent the first several months of their lives sharing a room at the Youxian SWI in Hunan, China.
A game of Monopoly:
Time for dessert: fruit dipped in chocolate...
Presents!
One of the families adopted a second daughter who happens to be from the same province as Tahlia. They get along amazingly well!
I love these girls! What a wonderful day; I'm already looking forward to summer so we can see eachother again.

I love having that connection with my travel family too. We live in different states which makes it hard to get together as you can imagine but have had 1 major reunion.
Parris & I are thinking about taking Erin & Lei Lei to nY for a weekend next week. We're hoping that the girls feel a connection too.

We are also lucky to be able to visit with some of our travel mates! Tahlia and her friend look sooooo much alike! Happy New Year!

The bond between China Sisters and their families is like no other. How funny that Jazzie and one of her friends even wore the same colour.

Looks like a wonderful time! That's awesome the girls have stayed in touch all these years. Tahlia and the younger daughter of your friends look like they could be sisters.
