In order to get ready for Jazzie's braces that are coming in January, she had to get two teeth pulled yesterday. It was quite an ordeal. After they got her hooked up to the laughing gas, I was told to wait in the waiting room while they were going to numb her mouth. At that point I was going to be able to come back and sit with her while the Novocaine took effect. I waited and waited and was wondering what was taking so long. I was actually expecting them to have finished the procedure already. They finally called me back and that's when I found a very anxious and distraught Jazzie with a face full of tears. Apparently it took the doctor and his three assistants over half an hour to convince her to even let them put the Novocaine in! My girl can be quite stubborn!
The actual procedure didn't take that long and after a brief talk with the doctor, Jazzie was able to go home. She was miserable :-(
By the end of the day, Jazzie was feeling better (the pain medicine is helping!) and one of her stitches actually came untied and was poking the side of her cheek. She decided to pull it out! I was shocked. I NEVER would have thought she would do that. She never ceases to amaze me! "That feels so much better, mom"!
In the evening she curled up on the chair to watch the long anticipated (by both girls) episode of Austin and Ally and Jessie with a big bowl of ice cream. Doctor's orders ;-)

I discovered your entry now and I am deeply delighted by the way you make your blog post! How exactly do you spread the word about the fact that you have published a new blog post to your site?

My daughter Lily is having 6 teeth pulled for ortho as well. Her teeth look very similar to Jazzie's. Did they pull her permanent premolars?

Bless her heart. Kennedy has a terrible fear of the dentist. the laughing gas has helped for the past two procedures but we both find it very stressful when appointment time rolls around. Jazzie is definitely a brave girl!

Oh my gosh, what a trooper. Maybe if they had let you stay in the room in the first place, it wouldn't have been so hard for her. Hope she heals quickly.
