Before we had Tahlia, Jazzie was a major daddy's girl. Even while we were in China, Jazzie preferred Matt over me. She was okay with me holding her and feeding her a bottle, but the first couple of days, she would only eat noodles of chopsticks and only if Matt would feed them to her:
She would only go to sleep if Matt was holding her:
She continued to prefer Matt over me when she needed to be comforted, when she wanted to be carried, when she wanted to play, when she wanted to be read to, etc.
As a matter of fact, her first sign was "daddy". Here she is signing it:
She wanted only Matt after her cochlear implant surgery:
She even liked to dress like him :-)
It wasn't until after Tahlia came home and Jazzie was jealous of all the attention Tahlia got from me, that she pulled away from Matt a bit and wanted to be a mommy's girl, because she saw that Tahlia was. Things have not changed much since then. Jazzie now prefers me over Matt for most things, although she prefers him to play games with her, especially when they are math related games. They are my two math wizards :-)
Even though I am sure Matt feels like chopped liver at times, I still see something very special when I see Jazzie and Matt together.
